Two partners were maxing a 401(k) and calling it a day. A custom defined benefit plan moved six figures of income off the table, compounding tax-deferred inside the plan.
Two physicians in a 4-partner group were maxing out their 401(k)s and calling that a retirement plan. Combined household income was $1.4M, and the partners assumed nothing more was possible because their group’s retirement plan was ‘standard.’
We designed a custom defined benefit plan layered on top of the existing 401(k). The structure required partner consensus and actuarial design but moved six figures of income off the table per partner per year, growing tax-deferred inside the plan.
Six figures of annual deductions for each participating partner. The plan was approved by the full group within 90 days and is now a permanent fixture in their retirement strategy.
